Boy & Girl Scout Patch Program

The National Churchill Museum has a Museum logo patch for Girl Scouts and Boy Scouts. Patch points are earned in a variety of ways - from participating in Family programs to visiting our Museum for a field trip or museum tour. Patch details are outlined below. You may also contact the Education Dept. by email for more information.

Visiting the National Churchill Museum as a Troop

Group Visits Admission: Scouts in uniform $4.50 per child
Adult chaperones meeting the 1:15 ratio request receive FREE admission
  Additional chaperones are $7.50/each.
Guided tours are available during the week and by appointment only.

Rules and Regulations

  • We require an 15:1 child/adult ratio policy for groups with 15 or more children.
  • We require adult chaperones at ALL Scout activities.
  • We request that siblings not participating not be brought into the programs.
  • Please make your reservations at least one week in advance. You can make reservations by emailing us.

Before Your Visit

  • Talk to the Education & Public Programs Coordinator about your visit. Make your reservation; get lesson plans; scavenger hunts; and other programming details.
  • Print off copies of the Scout Patch Contract. This is needed in order to get credit for the selected activity.
  • Talk as a troop about what to expect from a visit to the museum. Discuss museums and the functions they serve in our community. What other museums have you visited? What did you learn from those visits?
  • As a troop, discuss the patch requirements.
  • Discuss your trip in detail: conduct, dress, food, spending money, etc.
  • Encourage troop members to bring a pencil and sketchpad to record the fun and interesting things they will see and hear during their visit.
  • Go over the museum rules: ‚ó¶Walk, never run, through the museum.
  • Flash photography, food (including gum), and drinks are not allowed. This protects the artifacts and exhibit materials.
  • Groups should stay together when visiting the museum. It is always helpful to have a meeting place in case you are separated.
  • If you have questions, please ask the Front Desk Attendant.
