Richard Toye is a Professor of History at the University of Exeter and the author of several books about Churchill, including Winston Churchill: Politics, Strategy and Statecraft; The Roar of the Lion: The Untold Story of Churchill's World War II Speeches; Churchill's Empire: The World That Made Him and the World He Made; and Lloyd George and Churchill: Rivals for Greatness.
