The Relevance of Winston Churchill and Franklin Roosevelt Today
Pulitzer Prize Winner and Presidential Historian Jon Meacham

On April 1, 2017, Pulitzer Prize winning author and presidential historian Jon Meacham delivered the Enid and R. Crosby Kemper Lecture at the Church of St. Mary the Virgin, Aldermanbury. Meacham discussed Winston Churchill’s 1946 “Iron Curtain” speech on the Westminster campus.

Meacham is a presidential historian and author of such Pulitzer Prize-winning works as Thomas Jefferson: The Art of Power and American Lion: Andrew Jackson in the White House as well as Franklin and Winston: An Intimate Portrait of an Epic Friendship and Destiny and Power: The American Odyssey of George Herbert Walker Bush.

The event was in conjunction with Churchill Weekend and the first ever meeting at the National Churchill Museum by the board members of Washington D.C.-based International Churchill Society.
