The 42nd Festival of Lessons & Carols returns to St. Mary the Virgin, Aldermanbury on Sunday, December 7 at 5:30 p.m.
Based on the ceremony at Kings College at the University of Cambridge in England,
Westminster’s Lessons and Carols service includes the reading of nine biblical scriptures that pertain to the Christmas story.
Each reading is followed by a reflective carol. The ceremony includes a number of members from the Fulton and Westminster College communities. Faculty and staff members, area musicians, and the Churchill Singers — Westminster’s choral ensemble — round out the ceremony.
Admission is free, with donations gratefully accepted.
Guests may begin entering through the upper plaza doors at 4:30 p.m. A reception in the Museum undercroft will follow the program.
