Though the world’s soon-to-be most famous baby isn’t expected until July, Fulton is getting ready to give the child a warm welcome.

The annual meeting of the Mid-Missouri Friends of the National Churchill Museum will begin 4:30 p.m. Friday, June 7 at the Church of St. Mary, Aldermanbury. This year, the event will celebrate the royal baby.

“We did a Kate and William event the day they got married in 2011,” said Friends of the Churchill Museum board member Mary Harrison. “We just kind of felt it would be nice to do something now with the royal baby coming.”

In addition to presentations, refreshments and entertainment featuring Marlene Railton and other singers, much of the event will be baby- or child-themed as well. There will be a fashion show modeled by local children sporting styles from the Fulton Cafe gift shop, emceed by KOMU meteorologist Rosie Newberry.

Other planned events at the reception to follow in the museum feature a matching game with baby pictures of board members, as well as a game for guessing the weight, name and date of birth of the royal baby.
